The Kinder story began in the small town of Alba, Italy. Michele Ferrero, the son of a pastry maker, had a dream: to create chocolate specifically for children, and for parents who care about quality.
At the time, chocolate was seen as a luxury or a special treat. Michele wanted to create something that had "More Milk, Less Cocoa" to make it more nutritious and tastier for little ones.
In 1974, the team at Ferrero asked: "Do you know why children like Easter eggs so much?" The answer was simple: because they have a surprise inside.
They decided to make every day like Easter. That is how the Kinder Surprise was born—a thin chocolate shell that held the excitement of a toy, sparking imagination and joy 365 days a year.
